BHASHAVIDYA
Our Mission
The use of Languages for Learning and Growth
To facilitate a platform for all Indian Languages
India is a country of rich and diversified culture, tradition and languages. Hundreds of languages are spoken in India. One cannot understand and imbibe any regional culture, without the knowledge of the specific regional language. Language is complexly intertwined with culture. They both have evolved together, influencing one another in the process, ultimately shaping what it means to be human. According to the linguistic relativity principle, the way in which we think about the world is directly influenced by the language we use to talk about it. Respecting the sentiments of all language speakers, the modern India gives right representation for each language in the constitution as well. Hence don’t you think learning one or multiple Indian languages is our responsibility as Indians to sustain the rich culture and heritage? Kannada is one of the Dravidian classical languages of India and the state language of Karnataka. It is spoken by 4.37 crore people in India. Do you know that Kannada is one of the oldest surviving languages in the world? This language is also spoken outside of India, in places like Australia, the United States, and Canada. Many of these speakers are also members of the Indian Diaspora. It is estimated that there are about 20 different dialects in Kannada.
